Imagine Dragons released two new songs, “Follow You” and “Cutthroat”. The tracks are the band’s first new songs since the release of their fourth studio album, 2018 Origins.
In “Follow You”, the singer Dan Reynolds addresses the necessary dedication in a serious relationship. “I will follow you as far as you can go / I will follow you to your lowest point”, he sings. “I will always be around wherever life takes you / You know I will follow you.”
The songs are very personal, Reynolds relayed on a Twitter post. “’Follow You’ is a song about loyalty and love,” he shared. “Loving someone is an incredibly imperfect process. It is not always romantic or beautiful. Sometimes it can be incredibly painful. “
Reynolds detailed how he and his wife decided to remarry after a seven-month separation and what they learned from each other. “I wrote ‘Follow You’ after we got back. I wanted to represent a realistic love. “
Meanwhile, he wrote that “’Cutthroat’ is on the opposite side of the record, both sonically and thematically. It is an exorcism of self-pity … To be grateful for everything I have. “

Although Reynolds did not reveal a release date, he added that the two songs will appear on his next album, which the group has been working on for three years.
