Lions 2021 v2.0 simulated complete project: the ‘trade-off’ scenario

“We have an exchange” …

Lions GM Brad Holmes opens a new position to aggressively attack the future quarterback in Detroit. With some inquiries from Dolphins Wire publisher Kyle Crabbs, we closed the following deal:

Lions negotiate on. 7 overall, 101 overall (third was acquired from the Rams) and a 2022 choice in the first round (whichever is higher, Lions own or the Rams’) to Miami by the third overall and the seventh choice Miami round at No. 231 (acquired from Houston).

He’s going up to catch Trey Lance, the precocious North Dakota quarterback with very high potential but limited experience. Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields were off the board here. Lance arrives in Detroit, where he has time to learn and develop behind Jared Goff for a year (or two) without being thrown into the fray before he is ready.

And because you want to know … Miami stays with Kyle Pitts (preferred) or Ja’Marr Chase in seventh place.
