Random House announced on Tuesday that it will publish In the heights: Finding a home, which will take a look at the start of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway debut in 2008 and the journey for the film adaptation directed by Jon M. Chu.

After working together on New York Times Best seller Hamilton: the revolution, Miranda and co-author Jeremy McCarter meet here, with Quiara Alegría Hudes, the librettist who won the Pulitzer Prize for the Tony-winning Broadway musical book and screenwriter for the film, who is also the author.

In the next book, the trio of authors will chronicle the 20 years of On the heights, from Miranda’s first drawings at the age of 19 to the new film scheduled to be released in theaters and on HBO Max on June 18. The book will also feature lyrical annotations by Miranda, essays written by Hudes and never-before-seen photos of productions and the film’s setting.

The publishing rights in North America were acquired by Random House executive editor Ben Greenberg from Eric Simonoff of WME.

In the heights: Finding a home will be published on June 22, 2021. An audiobook will be released simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio. The book is available to order now.
