Limited series based on the “Paradise” trilogy by Elin Hilderbrand, produced by Ellen Pompeo In Works At ABC – Deadline

ABC is developing Winter in paradise, a limited series based on the first book from the bestselling book by Elin Hilderbrand Paradise trilogy, from the husband and wife writer team André and Maria Jacquemetton (Mad Men), Ellen Pompeo and her producer Calamity Jane, Andrew Stearn Productions and ABC Signature, where Calamity Jane and Andrew Stearn Prods. are based.

Written by the Jacquemettons, based on the work of Elin Hilderbrand Paradise trilogy, the series tells the story of a husband’s secret life and a wife’s new beginning. Irene Steele shares her idyllic life in a beautiful Victorian home in Iowa City with a husband who loves her to the extreme. But when her husband dies in perplexity, Irene soon learns that her husband lives a secret life with a totally separate family on the distant Caribbean island of St. John. As Irene unravels a web of intrigue and deception, and as she and her children are drawn to the vibrant culture of the island, they have to face the truth about their family and their future.

André and Maria Jacquemetton are executive producers with Pompeo and Laura Holstein for Calamity Jane, Andrew Stearn for Andrew Stearn Productions and Hilderbrand.

Hilderbrand’s Paradise trilogy is composed of novels Winter in paradise, launched in 2018, followed by What happens in paradise and Problems in paradise in 2020, published by Little, Brown and Company. Another book by Hilderbrand, 28 summers, is being adapted by MRC Film.

André and Maria Jacquemetton were the main writer-producers in all six seasons of Matt Weiner Mad Men, rising to executive producers in the final two seasons and participating in the three Drama Series Emmy Awards. They also served as consulting producers at Weiner’s The Romanoffs.

Pompeo stars and produces ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, which is currently in its 17th season. She also serves as an executive co-producer on Gray by-product Station 19.

Through its general agreement with ABC Signature, Stearn is also conducting a All my children sequence of prime time, Pine Valley, which is under construction at ABC.
