Alexander Volkov made an important submission earlier this evening (Saturday, February 6, 2021) at UFC Vegas 18 live on ESPN + from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “Drago” ended up with heavyweight veteran Alistair Overeem by TKO in the second round (punch).
Overeem opened the first round as he did in most of his recent fights, taking his time and feeling his opponent. Unfortunately, Volkov was at stake from the start and started to press Overeem with combinations. Overeem’s face started to bleed as he struggled to earn “Drago’s” respect.
Volkov really started to open up in the second as he passed through Overeem’s defense with ease. Overeem tried to enter the Russian opponent, but Volkov shook him and bled him with more punches. A few moments later, Volkov landed a powerful left hook around Overeem’s guard that brought the veteran down. Volkov tried to proceed to the safety outlets, but the referee was already intervening.
