Life Is Strange: True Colors is literally about feelings that rock the world

I thought I had seen and played enough Life Is Strange games at this point that I would be immune to their combination of teenage melodrama, golden hour lighting and supernatural skills. And then came the Life Is Strange: True Colors ad trailer, and no, it still works for me. You can watch it below.

The new protagonist Alex Chen is a young woman with the ability to feel other people’s emotions and the reason they are feeling them, and to adopt and change those feelings. When these feelings overwhelm her, she “loses control”, with the consequences of shaking the world if the trailer above is any indication.

I am guessing that there will be some strong feelings due to the game’s plot. You can consider this a spoiler, so stop reading now, but the trailer above explains that Alex is visiting his brother in the city too good to be true of Haven when, under mysterious circumstances, he dies. Naturally, you are looking for answers with some new friends.

Unlike previous LIS games, True Colors is not episodic, although it does appear to have clearly defined chapters if you want to take breaks during the game. It is being developed by Deck Nine, the studio previously responsible for the prequel to Life Is Strange: Before The Storm. What we liked, bar some spoiler reservations.

Life Is Strange: True Colors will come to Steam on September 10.
