The holiday season is almost over, but that does not mean that the delays in parcels delivered by the US Post are over.
“It’s absurd,” Melissa Walker told 13WHAM-TV. “It’s not right.” His frustration overflowed when traditional mail, as well as packages remain entangled in a web of shipping and correspondence delays that are approaching historic levels.
The carriers will deliver on New Year’s Day, which is a change. Throughout the holiday season, dissatisfied customers expressed frustration with packages that never arrived, or at least arrived days or weeks later than promised.
Throughout the holiday season, we hear about lost or lost packages, and even some that arrived more than a month late. But what has not been reported for the most part are the other items that took weeks or never reached their destination.
In early autumn, a report found that there were “significant” and “increasing” delays in postal delivery of prescription drugs under the mandate of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. In it, the biggest pharmacies in the country reported that they were experiencing delays in deliveries of 18-34%, which translates into 3-4 additional days.
It is unclear what the answer is, but some local residents just want the USPS to receive adequate support from Congress so that it can operate at full strength.
