We’re getting close to this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV), scheduled for Sunday, January 31, 2021, at ThunderDome in St. Petersburg, Florida, where we will have two more Royal Rumble matches. This means that WWE has spent a lot of time looking at the old Royal Rumble game and undoubtedly the best of them is the masterpiece assembled in 1992.
It was only the fifth Royal Rumble game in history, but I will be cursed if they didn’t make an absolute home run from start to finish. Ric Flair came in third and had a legendary performance that can be argued that is still the best we’ve seen in this type of match.
Here’s a clip of Flair talking about it with Stone Cold Steve Austin:
Flair became champion by winning the match and then went behind the scenes and made one of the most memorable promos of all time.
We can only hope that any of this year’s Royal Rumble matches will be somewhere close to that level.
