Let’s Go player goes to extremes to get Shiny Magikarp

Pokémon fans often go to amazing lengths to obtain glowing creatures, and this is certainly true for Pokémon: come on player on the Nintendo Switch. Reddit user GimmeDatGrimoire was able to attach a Shiny Magikarp to the game in a truly unusual way: from the seller Magikarp located at the Route 4 Pokémon Center. In the game, the astute salesman tries to trick unsuspecting players by charging them 500 Pokémon Dollars for the incredibly common creature. However, GimmeDatGrimoire was able to trick the con artist trying over and over again for three years until they finally got a Shiny Magikarp!

A video of the performance can be found in the embedded Reddit post below.

Outrageous, did you say? from r / pokemon

The seller Magikarp has been a hallmark of the franchise since the days of Red and green Pokémon. The seller appears in all games in the Kanto region. The character still makes a memorable appearance in the first season of the anime, where he manages to convince James to buy the Pokémon. For GimmeDatGrimoire, the achievement was made to teach the con artist a lesson!

Although the dedication of the poster is impressive, it is important to note that this particularly Shiny is not worth the effort that the poster made. Shiny Magikarp will evolve into an impressive red colored Gyarados, but this Pokémon is quite common when it comes to Shiny Pokémon. There are several methods that allow players to obtain Shiny Magikarp and Shiny Gyarados over the years. Most recently, Shiny Magikarp appeared during a Community Day event in Pokémon Go, and the Pokémon obtained in the mobile game can be easily transferred to Pokémon: come on.

Of course, the transfer of a Shiny Magikarp from Pokémon Go it’s not as impressive as the dedication required to accomplish a feat like this, and GimmeDatGrimoire now has an impressive story to follow with this new addition to its collection. When players buy Magikarp from the seller, the game notes that the player has paid an exorbitant price. Appropriately, GimmeDatGrimoire named his Magikarp “Outrage;” this will certainly make it difficult to forget the hard work and effort required to obtain this Pokémon Shiny!
