Venom: Let There Be Carnage release postponed three months
With the long-awaited F9: The Fast Saga recently put in place of the original date of the film, Sony Pictures chose to postpone the process led by Tom Hardy Venom: Let There Be Carnage for the third time in three months, from June to September. In addition to delaying the second installment of Sony’s Marvel Universe, the studio delayed the action comedy The Man From Toronto starring Kevin Hart, Kaley Cuoco and Woody Harrelson, which was originally set for a September release and has now been set for an unknown 2021 release.

Andy Serkis is directing the Poison sequel, marking his first foray into the direction of a comic book feature after appearing in two Marvel Studios films. Let there be carnage will mark the third feature film that Serkis will take on as director after Mowgli: legend of the jungle, which was released on Netflix last year.

Tom Hardy will repeat his role as Eddie Brock in the film alongside Michelle Williams as Anne Weying. Cletus Kasady, also known as Carnage, was briefly introduced to the Poison film franchise during the half-credits scene of the original film that revealed Woody Harrelson as the archenemy of Venom. It was recently confirmed that Harrelson would return to the Poison sequel. Oscar nominated Naomie Harris (Moonlight) was also reportedly in negotiations to play the role of the villain Shriek, who is Carnage’s love interest and accomplice.
Originally scheduled to open on October 2, 2020 and later postponed to June 25, 2021, the sequel is now scheduled to hit theaters on September 17 in 3D, IMAX and large format cinemas.

Poison racked up a whopping $ 855 million worldwide during its box office, despite negative reviews and a moderate response from fans (form your own opinion by choosing the movie here).
