Les Miles was stripped of the position of Kansas football coach after allegations of inappropriate behavior

Les Miles was stripped of the position of Kansas football coach after allegations of inappropriate behavior with women at LSU.

Jeff Long, Kansas’s athletic director, said in a statement that the school and the former Louisiana State University coach “agreed to separate.”

Miles also issued a statement calling it a “difficult day” for him and his family.

“I love this university and the young people on our football program. I really enjoyed being the head coach of KU and I know that it is a better place now than when I arrived.”

The Advocate, a New Orleans newspaper, said KU had started looking for a new coach.

Miles was placed on administrative leave on Friday night, hours after a report released by LSU revealed that school officials considered dismissing him in 2013 because of his behavior with working women.

Miles, 67, was entering his third year as a Kansas coach and coming out of a 2020 season without a win. He was an LSU coach for more than 11 years before being fired four games in the 2016 season.

He denied the accusations of making sexual advances towards students and said he only sought to serve as a mentor to students who expressed an interest in pursuing a career in sports.
