Leon Edwards made it clear that he is ready for anyone, now that Khamzat Chimaev is out of his UFC Fight Night headline on March 13.
That includes Colby Covington, who UFC president Dana White on Friday named as the favorite to fight Edwards next month at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. However, the confrontation is far from over.
Edwards (18-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) is apparently not afraid to face Covington (16-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC), as he made it clear on Saturday that he is ready (via Twitter):
Colby can also do this job. Then the next title. It’s bracelet season

Immediately after Chimaev’s withdrawal due to COVID-19 complications, Edwards made a big call for Nate Diaz to join the fight. Diaz hit him with a stiff arm, however, rejecting the Brit with a famous meme by Conor McGregor (via Twitter):
Edwards did not like Diaz’s response (20-12 MMA, 15-10 UFC) and informed him (via Twitter):
nate your photoshop skills are as bad as your fight record. and you used the wtf conor line đ
And finally, Edwards took aim at his longtime rival, Jorge Masvidal. The duo has a colorful history, with the infamous Masvidal punching Edwards backstage after they both won victories at a March 2019 event in London.
The card that Edwards still hopes to headline in March is almost exactly two years before the day of the incident with Masvidal (35-14 MMA, 12-7 UFC). However, Edwards does not seem optimistic about a resolution (via Twitter):
We all know that Jorge’s bitch won’t be anywhere when it comes to fighting me. đ
Although high-profile fights appear to be plentiful for Edwards, it remains to be seen who, if any, will agree to enter the octagon with him a month from now.
