LEGO 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa revealed as the next Creator Expert car [News] | The Brothers Brick

LEGO has just unpacked the newest set of expert creators, 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa. With 1,458 massive parts, the set contains the parts to build a classic Porsche 911 from the 1970s and 1980s in either of two configurations: the wide 911 Turbo with an iconic whale tail or the elegant 911 Targa with a lid removable. The Porsche 911 follows the light yellow Fiat 500 from last year. The set will be sold by $ 149.99 | CAN $ 199.99 | United Kingdom £ 119.99 and will be available first to LEGO VIP members from February 16, with regular retail availability from March 1.

As part of LEGO’s new 18+ adult-oriented portfolio, the Porsche 911 receives the black box treatment with the already distinctive shiny stripe at the bottom, making it the first Creator Expert vehicle to lack the Creator Expert logo.

At about 13 inches (35.5 cm) in length, the 911 is loaded with details.

There is a complete interior with dark orange bricks to match the real car’s leather upholstery.

The hood and engine compartment also open. The Targa roof panel can be stored in the front luggage compartment. Designed by Mike Psiaki, who regularly appeared on TBB before joining LEGO as a designer, the Targa version features the P51AK3 board, a direct reference to his name.

The set will make use of several new elements to capture the 911’s distinctive shape, such as new large slopes for the rear panels, as well as the Turbo fenders.

To change the 911 from the Turbo model to the Targa model, you will replace the entire roof with the distinct black Targa rail, remove the whale’s tail, replace the rear fenders with narrower ones and replace the black-and- white style white for yellow New York signs.

Here is a look at Targa and Turbo together in a lovely scale showroom designed by LEGO. The posters on the wall are part of a promotion that LEGO is running for VIP members who have ordered the set.

Customers who order the set through the VIP program will receive a Porsche themed gift bonus package, including a LEGO Porsche card wallet, four art prints and an “Incredible Certificate”. LEGO says promotions are limited in quantity, on a first-come, first-served basis, but they have not revealed how many will be available.
