The LEGO Group has officially unveiled its latest 18+ vehicle, the 2-in-1 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and the 911 Targa.
Described as the bridge between the 1970s and 80s, 10295 marks the first time that the theme previously known as Creator Expert has addressed a Porsche – and it delivered not one, but two different variants of the German sports car.
The 1,458 parts allow you to build a Turbo or Targa version of the 911 (although crucial – and obviously – not both at the same time). The Turbo coupe has a fixed roof and spoiler, while the Convertible Targa has a removable roof, but has no spoiler. Both cars feature luxurious interiors in dark orange and nougat, taking inspiration from contemporary upholstery options.
10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa are not the first Porsches to appear in the form of LEGO, nor are they the first time that the 911 has been recreated in bricks.
Speed Champions and Technic have faced multiple variants of the iconic rear-engine engine in recent years, so it was really only a matter of time before a larger version of the System left Billund’s production lines. The only question was, which one would choose the LEGO Group?
“While we were designing the car, the most difficult decision to make was whether we would make the Turbo or Targa variant of the car,” said LEGO Design Master Mike Psiaki.
“It was such a difficult decision that we designed the ability to build the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and Targa from a single set. Undoubtedly, 911 fans worldwide who have long admired these cars will love the opportunity to build both versions! “
“We know that the Porsche 911 evokes a certain magic for customers and fans of our brand worldwide, and the latest LEGO additions to the 911 family – the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and the 911 Targa – are no different,” added Fabian Schmölz, Exterior Designer at Porsche.
“These incarnations of our sports car icon accurately capture the unmistakable design of the cars on which they are based and are set to bring a lot of pleasure to a new family of fans.”
Attentive fans will notice that the final artwork on the set’s box makes no mention of the Vehicle Collection tag rumor, which previously seemed an inevitable brand change in the wake of the Modular Buildings Collection, Winter Village Collection and Botanical Collection.
Regardless, you can add 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa to your own vehicle collection on February 16 for VIPs or March 1 for all others for £ 119.99 / $ 149.99 / € 129.99.
