Dale Earnhardt Jr. accesses Twitter to showcase his robust custom gaming platform, revealing that he has been a PC player since at least the 1990s.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. may be known primarily as NASCAR royalty, but apparently he is an equally avid and tech-savvy player with a strong custom. PRAÇA to boot. The former driver who became a NASCAR analyst revealed on Twitter that he recently completed his first custom gaming equipment and posted a photo showing his work.
The Earnhardt family has its place as a dynasty in NASCAR history, starting with Dale Jr.’s grandfather Ralph Earnhardt, and, of course, including Dale’s legendary father, the late great Dale Earnhardt Senior, who died in an accident in last lap in 2001 Daytona 500. Dale Jr. created his own legacy on the NASCAR circuit as the Daytona Pied Piper throughout his 24 years as a professional driver, before retiring in 2018 to work as a NASCAR analyst, team owner and businessman.

But, it seems, running is not Earnhardt’s only passion. He revealed today in Twitter that he also has an old love for PC games since the mid-90s and, for the first time, built his own gaming platform after years of learning hardware by upgrading pre-made systems. He also posted a photo to show the black and red motif of the platform, which may be an ironic tribute to his late father’s famous No. 3 car.

Not much is known about the equipment’s specifications, other than what can be obtained in the photo that Earnhardt posted on his Twitter account – it looks like he has an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 or 3090 graphics card, an NZXT Kraken Z73 cooling system and a TridentZ Neo memory kit, but Earnhardt is keeping quiet about the details (so far). But Earnhardt continues to express his pleasure at IT work and how gratifying he is – perhaps a future venture for Dale if working as a NASCAR analyst does not work.
It’s not really surprising that Dale is a player – he already has a Twitch presence for iRacing.com to begin with. It is also not surprising that he was more interested in PC games, considering that it is more technically customizable and versatile than console games. After all, a man who spent most of his life learning the mechanics of highly complex race cars would develop a taste for hardware. But while Dale joins Henry Cavill as a famous figure making a foray into custom PC builds, he also makes the hobby more attractive to NASCAR’s blue-collar audience.
