Legendary editing changes camera photos that focus on Miranda’s back

The Mass Effect project director reveals that photos dated from Miranda’s ass are not included in the Legendary Edition.

The Mass Effect project director revealed that the accurate photos of Miranda’s ass did not make it into the remastered games.

Bioware released the first trailer for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition earlier this week. Remastered versions of the first three Mass Effect games. A side-by-side comparison of the old games with the new ones shows how different the games will be. They also won’t have any dated photos, as revealed by the game’s project director, Mac Walters.

The shots in question are close-ups of Miranda’s ass, something Walters addressed during a recent interview with Metro. “Kevin [Meek] actually called some camera cuts that were just … why was that focused on Miranda’s ass? “Walters explained, adding that these photos had not been included in the remastered trilogy. Meek is the character and environment director for Mass Effect.

The revelation that the close-up photos of Miranda’s ass were actually motivated by another question. Walters was asked whether he thought characters like the Asari, a race of single-gendered aliens, would feel a little out of place in a game 14 years after they were introduced. Bioware has been accused of pleasing male Mass Effect players through the creation and inclusion of Asari in the past.

“I don’t know if I would say that we are very concerned about this or anything, but there were considerations,” admitted Walters. So it looks like Asari will remain unedited, in addition to being remastered along with the rest of the games, of course. Mass Effect fans will be able to experience the remastered version of the trilogy when it launches on May 14, 2021.

If you didn’t already know, it was Mass Effect week here at TheGamer to celebrate the revelation of the legendary edition of the trilogy. There’s a lot of Mass Effect content for you to check out, including that Samara’s code doesn’t stop her from getting involved in romantic relationships and the bombshell that if it weren’t for Fox News, Jack from Mass Effect 2 would have been pansexual.
