Legend Season Guide: Raids, Spawns, Eggs and Hemisphere Exclusives

Season of legends is a new Pokémon GO season, lasting from March 1 to June 1, 2021. Season of Legends celebrates Pokémon GO legends, including new legendary Pokémon and legendary trainers.

At the time of this writing, Niantic shared an introductory blog post announcing the new season. More details will be added to this guide after March 1st and after we collect more data.


Legendary New and Mega Raids

This season will start with some legendary Pokémon making their debut on Pokémon GO—Therian Forme Tornadus, Therian Forme Thundurus, and Therian Forme Landorus!

Season exclusive special search

At the start of the season, all coaches will be able to access the Legend Season Special Survey. Follow Professor Willow as he makes exciting discoveries about Therian Forme Tornadus, Therian Forme Thundurus and Therian Forme Landorus, the first three legendary Pokémon featured this season. Complete this special survey to earn Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus Candy, as well as other rewards.

Stay tuned for more details. There may be some other legendary faces making their Pokémon GO debut appearing later in the season too! 🕵️

New Mega Raids

From March 1st, Different Evolved Mega Pokémon will appear in Mega Raids, and other Mega-Evolved Pokémon will make their Pokémon GO debut throughout the season. Stay tuned for more details soon, Coaches!


New wild spawns

As the seasons change, different types of Pokémon appear in different habitats in the jungle!

For example, you can find Mantine or Frillish appearing near the water, or maybe you will find a Voltorb or Glameow while in town! If you are crossing near grassy and forested areas, you can find Hoppip floating peacefully in the air.

These and many other Pokémon will appear more often in nature, so stay tuned and stay tuned for more details!

Pokémon exclusive to the hemisphere

During this season, the types of Pokémon that appear most frequently in nature, exclusively in the northern or southern hemisphere, will be greatly expanded compared to the last season (Celebration season)!

North hemisphere

In the northern hemisphere, you can find the following Pokémon in the wild:

  • Increase in wild spawns: Tangela, Combee, Croagunk, Ducklett and many more
  • For beginners in the Sinnoh region: Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup
  • Rare encounters: Scyther, Dratini and Cottonee
  • Seasonal shape: Spring Form Deerling

South hemisphere

  • Increase in wild spawns: Mankey, Yanma, Buizel, Woobat and many more
  • For beginners in the Sinnoh region: Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott
  • Rare encounters: Pineco, Bagon and Ferroseed
  • Seasonal shape: Autumn Form Deerling

Bonuses and items

You can expect even more news this season, like the following bonuses and items:

  • Players can receive more XP from five star raids during this season only.
  • Free passes for remote attacks will be available at certain times during the season. Stay tuned for more details on when these Remote Raid Passes will be available in the store!

Throughout the season, you will have even more opportunities to be legendary! March Community Day, GO Battle League Season 7, new events and more to come. You can also expect a series of events at the end of the season that are sure to be legendary.
