LeBron James turned to social media to express his anger over a bill currently in the Georgia state legislature that would likely increase the chances of voter suppression occurring in future elections.
I hope everyone understands that the crackdown on black voters does not end on election day. It will only get worse because they know what we did. @morethanavote 🙏🏾✊🏾🖤👑 https://t.co/Tl0g752kjL

The controversial bill would require all voters to make two copies of their identity documents before they can vote, which is seen as a way to deprive African-American voters.
James helped create the “More Than a Vote” organization, which was created to make it easier for African Americans to vote and to try to eliminate the continuing problem of electoral suppression.
In the presidential election last November, President Joe Biden defeated then President Donald Trump in the state of Georgia. After the defeat, Trump and his supporters claimed that the illegally issued ballots helped Biden to win in Georgia and other states.
James’ comments are not the first time that he has directed his anger at the voting process in Georgia, having instead mentioned the long delays for African Americans to vote there in the primary elections.
