With the Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 now in the world, Samsung can move on to its next affordable mid-range device. It is likely to be the Galaxy A82, and a new leak from the phone offers a view of the device as well as details of some important specifications.
Known informant Mukul Sharma posted the photo and information on Twitter, obtaining it from the Google Play Console developer tool. We take a good look at the front of the device, although it is unclear whether this is a genuine rendering or a placeholder image.
If the image is genuine, the device will use a centralized hole to hold the selfie camera. There have been rumors that a pop-up swivel selfie camera is likely – matching the Samsung Galaxy A80 2019 – so we’ll have to wait and see.
The leak does not offer a glimpse of the back of the Samsung Galaxy A82, unfortunately, perhaps supporting the idea that the included image is just a generic photo, but we hope that the aesthetic will follow the example of the other devices that Samsung has pushed this far year.

On the specs side, it looks like Samsung will equip the Galaxy A82 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset, which is a small update on the 2019 Snapdragon 855 Plus, with some 5G connectivity added.
It’s the same chip that is in Xiaomi’s recently launched Poco X3 Pro, so expect similar levels of performance. This chipset will apparently be paired with up to 6 GB of RAM, making it a mid-ranger that can maintain itself in terms of performance.
Other information that we can get from this list is that the phone will come with Android 11, as you would expect, and that the screen resolution will be 1080 x 2400 pixels – although there is no word yet on the dimensions of the screen.
We’re also still waiting to find out when the phone will be able to see daylight, although considering the appearance of the Galaxy A82 on the Google Play Console, it shouldn’t be long before Samsung makes it all official. By the way, you have not lost the Galaxy A81, as it has been reconfigured as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite.
