Lawyer claims lawsuit against Deshaun Watson, who says he is eager to clear his name

HOUSTON – After Houston’s attorney Tony Buzbee said in an Instagram post Tuesday night that he filed a lawsuit against Deshaun Watson, the Texas quarterback issued a statement saying he hoped to clear his name.

Watson responded on Twitter to the word of the lawsuit, saying he rejected “an unsubstantiated six-digit agreement request” and that it is “clearing my name, and I look forward to doing so”.

Buzbee did not specify the charges against Watson in his post, but he referred to behavior with women and later told FOX 26 in Houston that “Watson went too far” with a woman who was giving him a massage.

“I have never treated any woman with anything but the utmost respect,” Watson said in his statement.

Buzbee is well known throughout the Houston area for his law firm and unsuccessful 2019 campaign against Mayor Sylvester Turner.
