Lauryn Hill reveals why she never made a second album

“I was considered an enemy.”

Lauryn Hill’s misery is one of the best albums to date! But even though it was a huge commercial and critical success, not to mention a staple for many of us, Hill never followed it up with another studio album.

Now, she explained why this happens. “The wildest thing is that no one from my label ever called me and asked how we can help you make another album, ALWAYS … ALWAYS. Did I ever say? Never!” Hill said during Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Albums podcast.

“After The Miseducation, there were dozens of tentacle obstructionists, politics, repressing agendas, unrealistic expectations and saboteurs EVERYWHERE, ”she added.

“People included me in their own narratives of their successes with regard to my album, and if that contradicted my experience, I was considered an enemy,” continued Hill.

After Lauryn Hill’s misery was released in 1998, won 5 Grammys, including Album of the Year. Hill’s intention to create something that his “ancestors and ancestors in music” would like was an absolute success.

Now, she hears other artists experience her music like Drake and Teyana Taylor in their songs.

“I challenged the standard and introduced a new standard,” she said. “I believe The Miseducation I did it and I believe I still do it – challenge the convention when the convention is questionable. “

Hopefully, one day we will be lucky to hear another Lauryn Hill studio album. Anyway, she will be considered one of the best musical artists in history.
