Over the years, Apple has made available a handful of applications for Microsoft platforms to primarily serve iPhone owners who use Windows. One of today’s top apps is an iCloud sync client, and Apple is due to launch an iCloud Passwords Chrome extension soon.
ICloud for Windows was updated yesterday (via MacRumors) to version 12.0, and the release notes mention “support for the Chrome extension for iCloud passwords”. In the main list of available services, there is a new item “Passwords”. Tapping “Apply” to proceed to the bottom opens a prompt that further confirms the existence of this new tool and its functionality:
ICloud password extension for Chrome is required
Download the extension to automatically populate website passwords with your iCloud Keys.
The “Download …” button opens a list of the Chrome Web Store that has not yet been published. This extension will allow usernames and credentials saved on your iPhone and iPad to be accessed on Windows desktops.

Apple’s only other Chrome extension is for iCloud Favorites. It was last updated in 2017 for Windows 7 and 8. From 2007 to 2012, the company offered Safari. If the Windows version was still available, Apple probably wouldn’t release this Chrome extension. A release is likely to occur sooner or later, due to the iCloud update.
Meanwhile, Apple also offers iTunes for PCs and Apple TV + for Xbox. Our colleagues in 9to5Mac this year reported that music apps and podcasts can also reach the Microsoft Store.
