Launch of the ‘Boss Baby’ sequel, Dave Movido for September 2021; ‘The Bad Guys’ Unset – Deadline

Universal and DreamWorks Animation adjusted their 2021 release schedule, moving the sequence The Boss Baby: Family Business from March to September. The move to the new release date, September 17, was the location for DWA’s The bad guys, which is not yet defined and will have a 2022 version. Universal made the announcement on Monday.

Boss Baby 2 had been scheduled for a release on March 26, 2021, but most theatrical releases are in flux due to the coronavirus pandemic that decimated the home display business, which so far has only 60% of its screens in operation in the U.S. and Canada – and none in the major markets in Los Angeles and New York.

Tom McGrath returns to direct the second installment of Boss baby franchise; the first photo raised more than $ 500 million worldwide and received an Academy Award nomination for Animation. Alec Baldwin also returns as the lead voice for the new film in which the Templeton brothers, Tim (James Marsden) and Ted (Baldwin), have become distant adults.

The bad guys, based on Aaron Blabey’s hit book series Scholastic, is directed by Pierre Perifel on his debut as a feature film director, based on a screenplay by Etan Cohen and Hilary Winston. It revolves around five notorious bandits – Mr Wolf, Mr Snake, Mr Piranha, Mr Shark and Mrs Tarantula – who try their most challenging job: doing well. Damon Ross and Rebecca Huntley are producers; executive producers are Blabey, Cohen, Patrick Hughes and Jeff Berg.
