Launch of Chicago Bears order for 2021 NFL

Sometimes, it’s the little things.

On Thursday afternoon, the NFL released the official order of choices for the NFL’s 2021 Draft.

This is where the Chicago Bears will select each round, as follows:

  • Round 1: No. 20 overall
  • Round 2: No. 52 overall
  • Round 3: No. 83 overall
  • Round 5: No. 164 overall
  • Round 6: No. 204 overall
  • Round 6: No. 208 overall
  • Round 6: No. 221 overall
  • Round 6: No. 228 overall

This second selection of the sixth round at No. 208 overall for the Bears is of particular interest.

After swapping Adam Shaheen for the Miami Dolphins for a selection in the seventh round of the draft in the last off-season period, that choice has been officially upgraded to a choice for the sixth round. Originally, a conditional choice with undisclosed parameters, it appears that Shaheen and the Dolphins did enough to scale that pick up for Chicago. In related news, it may be the most useful thing the previous selection of the second round has ever done for your original team. That’s both here and over there.

The 2021 draft is about a month and a half away. A team like Bears with a litany of needs in positions like, oh, quarterback, offensive tackle, cornerback and off-line linebacker will have every opportunity to deal with these holes. And now they understand exactly where they will choose to fill them accordingly.
