latest news on the Gamecocks training team

South Carolina football is still building a team.

Shane Beamer was hired less than two weeks ago after the dismissal of then coach Will Muschamp. As is the case with most coach changes, a new support cast will also come to Columbia. Beamer’s intention is to hire what he called a ‘first team’ due to his many connections on the college football scene, having spent more than 20 years in the industry.

Throughout the interview process, Beamer exposed his main options to Ray Tanner and the South Carolina administration, and these options were obviously sufficient to give Beamer the advantage for the position of head coach. According to the new Gamecock leader, he is still in touch with each of his main choices, in OC and DC, and has heard from at least one coordinator at each Power Five conference with an interest in the openings.

“Every single ‘A’ I had on that list is still a long way from coming to Columbia.”

So, what will the new team look like? Obviously, there will be newcomers, but there is a possibility that there are some remaining ones as well.

Here is the latest news about what we heard from Columbia.
