As if your Epic Games Store library was not already swollen enough with freebies, you can finally one day find time to play, two more are now clamoring for permission to join the swinging pile, this time in the form of Metro: Last Light Redux and for the king.

Metro: Last Light Redux, released in 2014, is the second game in the acclaimed FPS series by developer 4A Games set in post-apocalyptic Russia from author Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novels. Or, more specifically, it’s 4A Games’ second attempt in that sequence, completely remastering the studio’s original 2013 effort with a range of welcome visual and gameplay refinements.

For the King, for its part, is a totally enjoyable and optionally cooperative adventure that successfully combines a series of familiar RPG stables – dungeon tracking, quest, exploration and turn-based combat, loot acquisition and more – with luck – project to mitigate board games like Arkham Horror.

There is a day and night cycle that affects map encounters, procedural elements and all sorts of compelling story vignettes – from adventures in haunted carnivals to battles in kraken-infested waters – that help the adventure look different enough with each run. But if that still isn’t enough to satisfy you, For the King will launch its first paid DLC expansion – the lost civilization with a jungle theme – on February 10.

You can add For the King and Metro: Last Light Redux to your Epic Store library for now until next Thursday, February 11th – time when the tactical space adventure Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition takes its place as the newest weekly toast.
