Las Vegas slot player wins $ 15.5 million jackpot on Christmas Eve

It’s a holiday miracle for a man who spent Christmas Eve at a Las Vegas casino.

The Suncoast Hotel and Casino reported that a man named Kevin won almost $ 15.5 million on one of his slot machines on Thursday night.

“MEGABUCKS JACKPOT ALERT!” Suncoast Casino tweeted along with a photo of its hidden winner. “Congratulations to Kevin for hitting the $ 15,491,103 Megabucks Progressive Jackpot at @suncoastcasino!”

According to a press release shared with Fox News, Kevin won the International Game Technology Megabucks slot machine jackpot on Thursday afternoon at around 12:30 pm. He reportedly put only $ 40 in the machine before his monumental win.

It was the largest slot jackpot Nevada has seen in eight years, according to Boyd Gaming – the owner of Suncoast Casino.

“It was certainly Christmas Eve to remember,” a Boyd Gaming spokesman told Fox News. “We are excited and honored to be able to play a role in this historic Suncoast holiday jackpot.”

Kevin, whose identity was being protected for security reasons, said he divides his time between Las Vegas and Alaska.

He told Boyd Gaming that he plans to use his earnings to support his business and “pay it forward”.

Facebook social media users extended their congratulations and best wishes to Kevin.

“Congratulations !!!!! I can’t even earn $ 100 and I’m there every weekend,” wrote a user with a smiling emoji.

“Wow,” another person joined the conversation. “Merry Christmas to you.”

One of the world record slots jackpots that took place in Las Vegas took place at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino, owned by MGM Resorts, in 2003, according to International Game Technology records. A 25-year-old Los Angeles man reportedly earned $ 39.7 million.

Three years earlier, an anonymous woman earned $ 34.9 million at the now closed Desert Inn Resort.

It’s not just Kevin testing his luck this holiday season. A sacked North Carolina preschool teacher earned $ 250,000 with a low ticket, according to an ad published in the NC Education Lottery on Tuesday.
