A Las Vegas player enjoyed a holiday miracle by winning $ 15.5 million playing a slot machine on Christmas Eve.
It was Nevada’s biggest slot win in eight years, according to the Suncoast Hotel and Casino, where a man identified only as Kevin took the money.
“MEGABUCKS JACKPOT ALERT!” the casino tweeted a picture of the winner hidden by a giant check.
“Congratulations to Kevin for hitting the $ 15,491,103 Megabucks Progressive Jackpot at @suncoastcasino!”
The man would have won the prize after putting only $ 40 in the machine.
“It was certainly Christmas Eve to remember,” said a spokesman for Boyd Gaming, owner of the casino.
“We are excited and honored to be able to participate in this historic Suncoast holiday jackpot.”
The casino said the winner divides his time between Alaska and Las Vegas, and that he will invest the money in his business and also “pay it forward”.
