Hundreds of local stores have closed as the historic winter storm continues to impact northern Texas. Many large retailers are asking customers to check the store’s opening hours before leaving to stock up on supplies.
As of Monday afternoon, 424 Walmart stores were closed across Texas and other states due to the violent winter storm, including dozens in northern Texas.

“The safety of our associates and customers is our highest priority. The Walmart Emergency Operations Center monitors winter storms and other potential disasters in real time. We assess the status of our facilities and will continue to operate as long as it is safe.” the company in a statement.
Kroger said on its website that the Dallas area stories would close at 8 pm on Monday and planned to reopen on Tuesday night, but would remain open from 5 pm on Monday.

Amazon also said on Monday that its deliveries were being affected by the storm. Orders can be tracked normally at www.amazon.com, but delays may occur depending on the item and the delivery location.
Other major retailers, including Target and Albertsons, are planning modified schedules depending on the storm’s route and the impacts of the power outage.
