Large replenishment of Amazon’s PS5 expected soon

TL; DR: Amazon is expected to offer a huge drop in PS5 inventory in the immediate future, offering players their best chance of securing a next generation PlayStation console. If you’re part of the majority of those who haven’t packed a PS5 yet, keep an eye on Amazon’s product page for the next few hours and days.

Sony’s PS5 may have broken launch records, but its launch was hampered by money changers who quickly bought shares to resell at inflated prices. Although I was one of the lucky few who managed to buy a PS5 on launch day, I know countless friends and colleagues who have tried several times, with no luck.

The good news today is that, according to the PS5’s variety of refueling sources, Amazon is gearing up for massive refueling in the very near future. Tom’s Guide collected the information, suggesting that Amazon could offer around 46,000 PS5s in the next few days – or hours.

This may be the best chance that players have had to buy a PS5 since its launch.

If you expect to buy a PS5 on your own, there are a few things you can do to prepare for the stock drop. First, if you haven’t already done so, make sure you have an Amazon account.

Next, make sure your credit card and shipping details are up to date – the last thing you want to do in the midst of the stock-busting frenzy is to look for a credit card number or send your PS5 to an old address.

Finally, adding PS5 to your Amazon wish list may allow you to add the console to your basket there, rather than through Amazon’s PS5 product page (which will be overwhelmed with traffic after launch). It’s a useful trick that helped me pack a PS5 last year, when the console launched in the UK.

All that remains for us to say is good luck – for those who are about to order a PS5, we salute you.
