Just a day after releasing his latest album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, Lana Del Rey decided not to let her fans rest for even a second with the announcement of her second 2021 album, Rock Candy Sweet. The singer announced the new album with a post on Instagram, next to a selfie and a release date for June 1st. She confirmed the news and expanded the themes of the next album in a story on Instagram that scolded Harper’s Bazaar for an article entitled “Lana Del Rey cannot qualify her way out of being held accountable”. “I just want to thank you again for the kind articles like this and for remembering that my career was built on cultural appropriation and the exaltation of domestic violence,” wrote Lana. “I will continue to challenge these thoughts on my next album on June 1st, entitled Rock Candy Sweet. ” Chemtrails Over the Country Club, the follow-up to the widely praised Norman Fucked Rockwell!, was released this week after significant delays last year.
