In the video, a fight starts between the owners and several policemen. The husband and wife are quickly brought to the floor. A police officer beats Martinez several times on the arm with a flashlight in the video while the police try to handcuff the couple.
“There are a lot of taco stands out there and they don’t bother anyone but us,” said Martinez. “That’s what I wanted to know, but then they started hitting me and threw me on the floor and hit me over the head several times.”
His wife said on Sunday that she was upset about the outcome of the situation.

“I am sad, very sad because we are working,” she said. “We are not stealing anyone and we are not asking anyone for help. We just want to work. “
According to Los Angeles County officials, the owners became physically aggressive towards the inspectors first, who claimed that the owners kicked an inspector and a police officer.
Both the El Monte police and the LA County Department of Health were originally there to investigate complaints about food being sold without authorization at the taco stand, which is against the state’s health and safety code.
