Brooklyn Nets fans will have to wait a little longer to see their new trio of stars, Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving in action. Irving was dropped by Brooklyn game against Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night due to NBA health and safety protocols, marking the seventh consecutive competition that he will lose. Irving left the team for personal reasons and was forced to undergo mandatory quarantine after the league determined that he violated health and safety protocols by attending a family birthday party in a private location without wearing a mask.
Irving canceled the quarantine period, but his conditioning is still increasing, as he and the Nets apparently do not think he is ready for the action of the game. His return to action is now expected against the Cleveland Cavaliers later in the week, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The Nets play against the Cavs on Wednesday and again on Friday.

Since clearing the quarantine, Irving has been increasing basketball activities after his long absence from the court, and according to Nets coach Steve Nash, the hope is to get the guard star back on the field as quickly as possible.
“Hopefully, we’re close. I really can’t give you a firm update on this,” Nash told reporters on Saturday, via New York Post. We have to evaluate this as we go along. We want to make sure that he ramps accordingly so that he is not susceptible to unnecessary injuries and to protect him in the best possible way. But, hopefully, it will be a short time. This must be determined, however. “
When it comes to Irving finding a rhythm on the floor after a decently long layoff, Nash is not concerned.
“I don’t care about Kyrie missing a beat,” said Nash. “He’s a brilliant basketball player. When he comes back, I’m sure it won’t be long before he becomes himself.”
When Irving was on the court for Brooklyn this season, he looked great alongside Durant. He averages 27.1 points, 6.1 assists and 5.3 rebounds, while shooting a career record of 42.6 percent in the 3-point range at 8.7 attempts per game. When Irving makes his long-awaited comeback, it will give everyone around the league a first glimpse of what this Brooklyn team could really be advancing as the new powerful team in the East.
