Kyrie Irving may be in trouble because of the avoidance of NBA All-Star media

Nets All-Star guard Kyrie Irving may face further NBA sanctions after he gave up his media call at 11:10 am on All-Star Sunday.

The media was notified at 11.15 am during the call that Irving was not going to enter and he decided that he would only speak after the game.

The 24 All-Stars were forced to speak to the media on Sunday in the late morning / early afternoon before the All-Star Game, since they were allowed to show up on Saturday night instead of Friday.

The 28-year-old All-Star, seven times, was fined $ 25,000 by the NBA for not mentioning the standard Media Day early in the training camp.

Irving posted on Instagram after being fined that he was tired of “someone else’s advertising” referring to the sports media. Rumors circulated that Irving would not speak for the entire season.

When the NBA fined Irving, he said, “The fines stem from Irving’s refusal on several occasions this week to participate in the team’s media availability.”

After the fine, Irving wrote in a statement that he hoped the fine money would help marginalized communities. Irving also added: “My goal this season is to let my work on and off the court speak for itself.”

Perhaps Irving was not ready to answer certain questions, such as what he thinks about the potential to add former All-Star Blake Griffin to the cast. The Nets are considered favorites for the free force striker after the Pistons bought his contract.
