Kylie Jenner gave her list of Instagram followers a big cut this week, E! is reporting, with the makeup tycoon failing to follow almost all of his friends, including Sofia Richie, his former assistant who became a friend Victoria Villarroel and his platonic encounter Fai Khadra. Jenner now tracks only 28 accounts, and almost a third of them are fan accounts about her.
The rest appear to be family members (all the Kardashian and Jenner brothers), although her ex-boyfriend Travis Scott and best friend Stassie Karanikolaou remain on the list. Why did Jenner stop following essentially all but one of his close friends en masse? AND! did not speak to a source about Jenner’s intentions, but the media noted that, since Jenner has stopped following people like Khadra, who remain friends of the family, there seems to be no drama related to cleaning up her next list. She just wanted cleaner food.
That said, Jenner and Richie are further apart today, after Richie’s separation from Scott Disick, ex-boyfriend of Jenner’s sister, Kourtney Kardashian, and father of their three children.
Us Weekly reported in August that Jenner purposely did not attend Richie’s birthday trip to Cabo San Lucas because she wanted to avoid causing any embarrassment to her family. (Yes, the fact that Los Angeles has been under a safer domestic order for months, urging residents to avoid non-essential travel because of the coronavirus pandemic, apparently was not Jenner’s biggest motivation for skipping festivities abroad., Jenner he was criticized that August for ignoring the non-essential travel ban and taking a trip to Turks and Caicos that August to celebrate his own birthday.
A source explained their relationship to the outlet, statin, “Sofia and Kylie are still friends, but Kylie decided to stay behind and not go on Sofia’s birthday trip to avoid any embarrassment. Kourtney is not upset by the friendship of Kylie and Sofia and would not tell Kylie what to do, but the Kardashians are extremely loyal to each other and Kylie felt it would be better to stay behind. “
The source added that Disick really would have “been more upset than Kourtney if Kylie had left”.
