Kylie Jenner is responding to the reaction she got over the weekend after many social networks criticized her for “asking” fans to support a crowdfunding campaign for an injured celebrity makeup artist while she donated $ 5,000, despite her high income. .
The makeup tycoon – who last year was proclaimed the youngest billionaire before the nickname was quickly removed by Forbes – read her Instagram story on Monday to dispel any notion that she was pressuring her fans to pay for the emergency of makeup artist Samuel Rauda surgeries.
“I feel it is important for me to clarify this false narrative that I asked fans for money and I’m not paying my makeup artist’s medical bills,” wrote Jenner. “Sam is not my makeup artist and unfortunately we no longer have a personal relationship, but I worked with him a few years ago and I think he is the sweetest.”
Rauda suffered an accident that required “major surgery” on Sunday, March 14, according to the GoFundMe page. Reports over the weekend showed that Jenner and Bella Thorne – with whom Rauda also worked – placed $ 5,000 each in the pot. Some social media users were quick to say that they thought their donation was too small.

“They had already raised $ 6,000, so I put in $ 5,000 to reach their original goal and thought about posting in my stories to gain more awareness if someone felt so compelled to share or donate,” she added.

The fund’s new target of $ 120,000 – above the initial $ 6,000 request – is close to being reached, as the total of current donations is close to $ 100,000 on Monday night.
