Kristy Swanson is being assaulted by other celebrities after defending Donald Trump against calls to digitally remove his special appearance in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”.
While the president faces a second historic impeachment, many on social media are looking to have his brief participation in the 1992 vacation film, written and produced by the late John Hughes, digitally removed from future iterations.
The social media campaign led actor Macaulay Culkin to say he approves of the change. The scene in question shows Trump giving instructions to Culkin’s character Kevin McCallister in a hotel lobby.
Swanson, an outspoken supporter of Trump, used Twitter to defend him from what she considered “canceling the culture”.

“If Cancel Culture really wants Donald J. Trump to be removed from the John Hughes film ‘Home Alone’, then, in support of MY PRESIDENT, I would like to be officially removed from the John Hughes films, ‘Pretty In Pink’ and ‘ Ferris Buhler’s Day Off, ‘” she wrote.
Many were quick to note that the roles Swanson was referring to were not exactly essential to the plot of any of the beloved films. She played a brief role without mentioning the conclusion of “Pretty in Pink” and gave a brief speech in a classroom during “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.

Among the critics who criticized Swanson’s statement were other celebrities, such as Jane Lynch, who mocked Swanson on Twitter writing: “I’m sorry. Who are you?”
Yvette Nicole Brown followed suit writing later: “Were you in these films?”
Comedian Patton Oswalt also criticized Swanson, using a little self-deprecating humor.
“This is weak, Kristy,” He wrote. “I was removed from THE BEST GOOD PAPAI and SANTA CLAUS years before Trump THINKS about running for president. That’s how I support MY leader. Why do you hate America?”
