Ronald Koeman praised Ilaix Moriba after the 18-year-old scored his first goal for Barcelona on Saturday against Osasuna.
Koeman made it clear that he has a lot of faith in the young man and gave him more minutes as a substitute for Sergio Busquets in El Sadar.
Moriba returned the faith of his coach by scoring a brilliant goal for Barcelona, sealing an important victory that left Koeman more than happy with the young man.
“Every time he comes to the team he gives something more to the team, for his personality, for his energy, above all he is good with the ball and physically he is a strong boy. He is gaining ground and showing that he can be more with the starting lineup.
“Of course, we are proud to let youths in grassroots enter. We do it because they deserve it, there are people like Pedri, Ilaix, Riqui, Araujo, Mingueza … They are the future of the club. ”
Barça are now turning their attention to the Champions League and a trip to Paris Saint-Germain for the second leg of the last 16 clashes. Koeman said that his team “goes there to get a good result” and will need something special if they want to cancel a 4-1 loss in the first leg.
