“You know, I think what you mean about this photo is important. It shows that the ex-president is desperate to continue to appear to be leading the party and the problem is, until we step back and say, you know, this is not a first Trump party, it is a first country party – in some you can support Donald Trump in this effort, but in my case, I believe this is a whole new movement, ”said Kinzinger.

Todd noted that Kinzinger should originally appear on the show along with other House Republicans who voted for Trump’s impeachment, but appeared alone.
“Look, it is very difficult. I mean, suddenly imagine everyone who supported you, or so it seems, your friends, your family have turned against you. They think you’re selling yourself, ”said Kinzinger. “But the reality is this: this is a moment of choice. It is time to choose what we will be. “
Kinzinger acknowledged last week that his vote for Trump’s impeachment could be “terminal” to his career. The congressman is likely to face primary challenges due to his decision, but so far he has kept his vote.
