Kinney Drugs now administers Covid-19 vaccines for people aged 75 and over

Syracuse, NY – Kinney Drugs became the first drugstore chain in central New York to offer the Covid-19 vaccine.

The network is scheduling appointments only for people aged 75 and over, as authorized by the state of New York.

You can sign up on this site for appointments, which start Thursday at some locations.

Kinney will offer the photos at all of its 75 locations in New York. Of these, 16 are in Onondaga County.

At 10:30, some Kinney stores had already scheduled all January appointments and were scheduled for February. Kinney will inject the vaccine manufactured by Moderna. You will need a second injection 28 days after the first; this appointment will be scheduled when you take the first photo.

Vaccines are free. You will need to bring a driver’s license or other identification to prove you are at least 75 years old.

Today is the first day that about 1.4 million New Yorkers aged 75 and over are eligible for vaccines from the state’s vaccine distribution program. They also qualify are pre-school and elementary and high school teachers, first responders, correctional officers and other essential frontline officials.

Vaccines are also available at the New York State Fairgrounds, War Memorial and elsewhere.
