‘King’s Man’, ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Among Latest Disney Movies Delays

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact Hollywood, Disney has postponed another round of films.

On Friday, several titles, all from the 20th century studios and the company’s Searchlight banner, were pulled from the first half of the year. Among these films is “The King’s Man”, which changed from March 12 to August 20, while the family animated film “Ron’s Gone Wrong” was postponed from April 23 to October 22. “Bob’s Burgers”, a film based on the popular TV show that was scheduled for April 9, has been removed entirely from the release schedule.

Meanwhile, four Searchlight titles received new release dates: horror film “The Night House” (July 16), Jessica Chastain’s biopic “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” (September 24), supernatural thriller “Antlers” (October 29 on limited release) and Guillermo del Toro’s twisted suspense drama “Nightmare Alley” (December 3 on limited release).

Prior to Friday’s announcement, “The King’s Man”, which was delayed several times in the midst of the pandemic, was the only studio film still scheduled to launch in early 2021. Several high-profile films have been postponed in the past 12 hours, with MGM pushing “No Time to Die” for October, and Sony moving “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, “Cinderela” with Camila Cabello and “Morbius” at the end of the year.

Disney made no mention of “Black Widow,” the Marvel film starring Scarlett Johansson which is scheduled for May 7, 2021. But there is a chance that the studio will eventually change that film too, unless the coronavirus pandemic improves. drastically in the next month.

Matthew Vaughn directed “The King’s Man”, the third film in the franchise after “The Secret Service” and “The Golden Circle”. The most recent film, set in the early 1900s, depicts historical tyrants and criminal geniuses as they plan a war that could wipe out millions.
