Kings Canyon returns to Apex Legends until January 21, brings back Mirage Voyage

Kings Canyon is back in Apex Legends“With a twist.” The first arena of Battle Royale has returned to rotation and features the Mirage Voyage, which now floats above the Costa Quebrada. Players can visit the arena until January 21.

This occasion marks the first time that players have been able to dive into the arena in normal rotation since the last season started on November 4th. Respawn took Kings Canyon out of rotation with the launch of Apexthe most recent map, Olympus. But now, the map has returned early.

The rotation allows players to access the latest version of Kings Canyon, but with a twist: the Mirage Voyage is floating over the Costa Quebrada, where the City of the Skull used to be. The areas that came with the latest map updates, including the Cryptography, Rescue and Capacitor Map Room, are also available as normal.

Mirage Voyage appeared as part of Mirage’s Town Takeover during the 2019 Holo-Day Bash. It was parked in the northwest corner of the world’s edge until the sixth season long-range map updates, which took the train, added three new POIs and removed Voyage from the arena.

City acquisitions are usually permanent additions to maps and Voyage used to be an exception to this rule. With his new home in Kings Canyon, however, it looks like Respawn will still keep Town Takeovers in the game indefinitely – even if the developers just change the location a bit.

Kings Canyon will not be part of the regular rotation for now. The brief surprise appearance of the map is only available until January 21. This gives players about a week to relive Apexthe first map – at least until its likely return next season.
