Kinetic Games presents beta changes of Phasmophobia in ghost audio

Fasophobia ghosts are already quite scary, but a new game change can make it a little more deadly. Developer Kinetic Games posted an update to his Twitter account on Monday, writing: “Another small update is in beta with another new addition.”

This addition is that the ghost will now hear the players’ voices while hunting, and look for the locations where the players have been speaking.

Fasophobia puts a team of players inside a haunted house, school or even a prison to investigate. Researchers use a set of tools, such as an empty book and a pen or thermometer, to determine what kind of ghost they are dealing with. The game also reacts to the players’ voices. One way to get a timid spectrum out of hiding is to ask questions like “How old are you?” Players can also shout the ghost’s name in an attempt to drive them crazy and get them out of hiding.

Ghosts start out shy, but eventually start chasing investigators in an attempt to kill them. This change in the beta server causes the ghost to hear investigators out loud and head over to the audio for some evil murder. The volume matters. In a follow-up tweet, Kinetic Games clarified that you can still communicate with your team … carefully. “The voice update is based on the volume of your microphone,” said Kinetic. “Then you will be able to whisper during a hunt.”

This addition to the game is based on player feedback. The players thought that their volume would attract ghosts during the hunting phase and acted accordingly. It turns out that this was not true.

If this beta test works, Fasophobia players can expect to whisper during tense ghost chases and check the microphone volume … or be grabbed by a ghost and brutally murdered. Either strategy can work!

Fasophobia it also added a prison level in December, so players who checked out the game during its original explosion of popularity in October may want to return to the ghost hunt van and experience the changes.
