Kim Kardashian is officially a billionaire.

Forbes announced its inclusion on the list of Billionaires in the world for the first time on Tuesday, citing its two lucrative businesses, KKW Beauty and Skims, as well as “Keep Up With the Kardashians” money and sponsorship deals.

Kardashian’s value increased from $ 780 million in October to $ 1 billion.

OE! the reality star launched KKW Beauty in 2017, after seeing the success of half-sister Kylie Jenner’s makeup company, Kylie Cosmetics.

“It is the first time that I have stopped having licensing agreements and have made the transition to owning,” Kardashian told Forbes in 2017, when he announced his cosmetics line.

Kardashian, 40, sold 20% of KKW Beauty to Coty for $ 200 million, which put her company’s value at $ 1 billion.

She launched the shapewear company Skims in 2019 and propelled her to include loungewear during the pandemic, when women started leaning towards more cozy clothes while in quarantine. It holds a majority stake in the company, which did not disclose its revenues, Forbes said.

The Forbes list of billionaires faced drama when it named Jenner, now 23, as the youngest self-made billionaire. Critics criticized the title “self-made”, as Jenner had grown up in the already wealthy Kardashian-Jenner family.

“I really didn’t understand it, because it is ‘made by itself’ – we are all ‘made by ourselves’. What, why did we come from a family that was successful? That doesn’t really make sense to me, ”Kardashian defended Jenner. “… I know so many people like that [who] it didn’t end up being as successful as Kylie. If anything, I saw the complete opposite. “

After adding her to its list, Forbes released a report alleging that she had forged her way into billionaire status thanks to false tax returns. The publication ended up taking the title of Jenner.

Forbes estimated Jenner was actually worth just under $ 900 million in May 2020 – a year after granting her the title of youngest billionaire at age 21.
