After last year showed up to test the marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, several reports say the reality star who has become an advocate for prison reform is ready to resign the rapper once and for all.
Reports circulated on Tuesday afternoon that Kardashian, 40, has planned to leave her six-year-old husband, starting with a source claiming to Page Six that she hired divorce attorney Laura Wasser. The source insisted that “divorce is imminent” for the couple, but Kardashian has not yet officially filed for divorce in court.
The fact that Kardashian did not file the lawsuit has less to do with her happiness in her marriage to West and much more with the four children they share, a source now tells E! News.
“It got to the point where they haven’t spent time together as a couple in months,” a source told the channel.

“Kim knows the marriage is over. She has been known for a while,” continued the source, noting that they only saw each other physically “because of the children”.
Kardashian’s delay is because she wants to do what is right for her four children – North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 2 and Saint, 1.
“She wants to make sure she is making the right decision for the children,” said the source.
The source noted that while the founder of Skims “always takes care of Kanye, it’s all over between them. Kim is just focused on what’s best for the children. It’s a tough decision for her and she’s finding out.”

Representatives for Kardashian, West and Wasser did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News on Tuesday.
Although the couple’s apparent separation has already driven viewers of the “KUWTK” into a frenzy, most would agree that the news of their impending divorce is hardly a shock.
Kardashian and West’s marital problems were first reported in the summer when West announced his candidacy for the presidency in the 2020 election.
During what Kardashian later suggested was an episode caused by his bipolar disorder, West raised the possibility of divorcing his wife at a campaign event while claiming they were considering aborting their first child.
“Even though my wife wants to divorce me after that speech, she brought North into the world even when I didn’t want to,” said West to a crowd while crying, according to People magazine.

In a deleted tweet, rapper “Power” also said he was “trying” to divorce Kardashian since she attended a prison reform event with rapper Meek Mill in 2018.
He later apologized for Twitter’s rant, but the ordeal made Kardashian “furious”.
In July, it was reported that the couple had been considering divorce for weeks and that Kardashian and his famous family were “protecting” their children from their father’s public outbursts.

Later that month, the stars were seen having an emotional conversation in Wyoming, where Yeezy’s founder owns a ranch and stayed for a while over the summer.
More recently, the pair reportedly became even more distant, with sources saying the two were essentially leading “separate lives”.
A source told Page Six that West attended Kardashian’s 40th birthday extravaganza in November for just one day.

“He showed up late and left early, he wouldn’t show up on any of the Instagram photos. All he did was bring up the hologram of her father, Robert Kardashian, and he left there as quickly as he could,” explained the source to page six.
The 40-year-old reality show star married the hip-hop icon, 43, in May 2014.
