Kim Kardashian asked for a divorce Kanye West after 7 years of marriage, but our sources say it’s as friendly as a divorce can be.
Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s 4 children. Sources with direct knowledge told TMZ that Kanye is fine with the joint custody agreement, and we have been told that Kim and Ye are committed to being parents together.
There is a prenuptial agreement and we are told that neither party is contesting. In fact, our sources say they are far from reaching a property settlement agreement.
The documents, filed therefore queen Laura Wasser, do not list a separation date … it is listed as being determined. The date is almost irrelevant because their separation was so well reported in the news and on social media.
It was during the last half of 2020 when things got super complicated for Kimye … West launched your presidential campaign on July 4 and weeks later, it held a bizarre campaign event in South Carolina. At one point, a Kanye crying told a story from an argument he had with Kim … talking about abortion when she was pregnant with her first child.
It didn’t take long when Kanye made a series of shots in the Kardashian / Jenner family on Twitter, at one point referring to the matriarch, Kris Jenner, like “Kris Jong-Un.”
Multiple sources with direct knowledge told us that Kim was ready to give up after Kanye’s explosions, if it weren’t for Kanye going through a serious bipolar episode. She felt it would be cruel to end the marriage when he was not well.
Things got so complicated that the couple had been living apart for a few months. He was spending a lot of time in Wyoming, while she was in Calabasas with the kids. The problem? They said it was not contentious or ugly … but their differences in lifestyle and politics were the main ones, among others.
You will remember that they took one family vacation at the end of last year, to see if they could fix things … before that, Kim flew to Wyoming for a face to face thrilled with Kanye for the first time since the campaign rally off Kanye’s tracks.
Kim and Kanye met in the early 2000s and he first appeared in “Keeping up with the Kardashians” in an episode of 2010, when he visited her and Kourtney’s DASH store in New York. Kim, at the time, was dating Kris Humphries. Kanye would later confess his love for Kim in 2012 with his track “Cold”. They started dating right afterwards.
Kim gave birth for North West in June 2013, before Kim and Kanye were married in a luxurious wedding in Italy in May 2014. Kim and Kanye have 4 children together … North, Chicago, Psalm and Holy.
This will be Kim’s third divorce. She was married to a music producer Damon Thomas before they divorced in 2004. She married Humphries in August 2011, but she asked for a divorce after 72 days. This is Kanye’s first divorce.
