Kim Cattrall’s absence at the reboot of Sex And The City explained by the fading friendship between women
It looks like art will mimic life at the restart of Sex And The City on HBO Max.
The absence of Kim Cattrall, who had a ‘falling out’ with Sarah Jessica Parker, will be explained as her character Samantha is no longer friends with Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda.
“Just like in real life, people come into your life, people go away,” HBO Max content director Casey Bloys told TVLine on Wednesday. ‘Friendships disappear and new friendships begin.’

Parker, along with original co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, are earning $ 1 million per episode for 10 30-minute episodes of the new show entitled And Just Like That.
They will interpret their beloved characters as women in their 50s, navigating life and love in New York City.
“It’s a story about women in their 50s, and they are dealing with things that people face in their 50s,” explained Bloys.
‘They are trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York. So everything must look organic, and the friends you have at 30 may not have at 50. ‘

Cattrall, who starred in all six seasons of the HBO series, as well as in two films, had a very public disagreement with Parker, who she said “could have been nicer”.
Sex And The City author Candace Bushnell has also previously spoken about how she thinks the new show will work just fine without fan favorite Samantha.
In mid-January, Bushnell told PageSix.com: ‘You know what, I think it’s okay … I also think it will be interesting … there are a lot of interesting characters like Miranda.
‘We are all Mirandas. Miranda is an interesting character – but I don’t know what they will do.
Bushnell added: ‘Samantha will always be an inspiration to them … So somehow, I imagine that she will be there in spirit and as an inspiration that will give them a chance to explore sexuality with different characters.’
