Killzone’s official website has been removed, affecting the Shadow Fall clans • Eurogamer.net

Killzone’s official website has been retired, Guerrilla Games has announced.

The site will now redirect to PlayStation.com, says a message.

Online multiplayer modes, player statistics and ranking data for Killzone Mercenary and Killzone Shadow Fall are not affected, but you can no longer create or manage clans in Shadow Fall.

“We apologize for this inconvenience,” said Guerrilla. “Thanks to the many Killzone.com fans and visitors over the years for their enthusiasm and support.”

More than seven years have passed since the launch of the latest Killzone game: the PlayStation 4 launch title, Shadow Fall. The Horizon series now appears to be the focus of Guerrilla, with the continuation of the blockbuster Horizon Zero Dawn of 2017, Horizon Forbidden West, a title for PS4 and PlayStation 5 that will be released in 2021.

Once upon a time the Killzone franchise dubbed “Halo killer” by Sony, with entries on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita before arriving on the PS4. In the video below, Digital Foundry’s John Linneman recalls Killzone 2, “a PS3 showcase that still looks impressive today.”

Hands up if you want a new Killzone for PS5?
