While Martin Scorsesein Flower Moon Killers already have heavy weights like Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert de Niro, it seems that the protagonist of the film will be played by none other than Jesse Plemons, who worked with Scorsese previously in The Irish. Plemons is taking on a role that was originally intended for DiCaprio, but DiCaprio preferred to take on a more supporting role. Flower Moon Killers is based on the book by David Grann, which tells the real story of how members of the Osage nation were targeted for murder in Oklahoma in the 1920s. Plemons will play Tom White, the lead FBI agent who investigates the murders.

Eric Roth wrote the Flower Moon Killers script, which is based on a true story and David Grann’s book. Here is the synopsis of the book:
In the 1920s, the world’s richest per capita people were members of the Osage nation in Oklahoma. After oil was discovered under their lands, Osage drove in cars with a driver, built mansions and sent his children to study in Europe.
Then, one by one, Osage started being killed. The family of an Osage woman, Mollie Burkhart, became the main target. One of his relatives was shot. Another was poisoned. And it was only the beginning, as more and more Osage died in mysterious circumstances, and many of those who dared to investigate the deaths were murdered.
As the death toll increased, the newly created FBI took over the case, and the young director, J. Edgar Hoover, turned to a former Texas Ranger named Tom White to try to unravel the mystery. White assembled a secret team, including a Native American agent who infiltrated the region, and along with Osage began to expose one of the most frightening conspiracies in American history.
Plemons now plays Tom White, a role that was originally reserved for DiCaprio, but it was previously reported that DiCaprio decided that he preferred to play Ernest Burkhart, a more villainous character. DiCaprio’s change of opinion made Paramount suddenly nervous about the film’s big budget – his reasoning being that the public would rather pay to see DiCaprio as a good guy rather than an antagonist. As a result of Paramount’s coolness, Apple launched and rescued the film, with DiCaprio taking the role of Burkhart. De Niro will play DiCaprio’s uncle, a powerful local farmer, while Certain women get out Lily Gladstone will play Mollie Burkhart, an Osage woman married to DiCaprio’s character.
There is not Flower Moon Killers release date still set, but production should start this month and last at least 16 weeks.
