Kia shows the first full images of the new EV6 electric car

Kia took a real first look at its new EV6 electric car, following some gloomy teaser images that were released last week. Full details of the EV6 will not be announced until an online event later this month, but the new images at least reveal what it really looks like.

The EV6 has a sporty crossover design and is the first vehicle to make use of a new Kia design philosophy that the company calls “Opposites United”, which is made up of no less than five pillars: “Bold for Nature , ”“ Joy for Reason ”,“ Power to Progress ”,“ Technology for Life ”and“ Tension for Serenity ”. Kia’s head of design, Karim Habib, explains what this means in this video:

“EV6, as the first dedicated Kia EV, is a showcase of progressive design centered on human beings and electricity. We strongly believe that EV6 is an attractive and relevant model for the new EV market, ”said Habib in a statement. “With the EV6, our goal was to create a distinctive and impactful design, using a combination of sophisticated and high-tech features in pure and rich volumes, while providing a unique space as a futuristic EV.”

And here’s the interior:

Kia describes the EV6 as its first “battery-powered electric vehicle”, as its Niro has gas / hybrid models, as well as the latest version with an electric power train. The EV6 is built around the new E-GMP platform from parent company Hyundai and is the second E-GMP vehicle to be announced; Hyundai unveiled its own Ioniq 5 last month.

For more technical details, you will have to wait for the EV6 to be revealed in full. Kia has not yet announced a date for the event, but says it will happen in March, so it won’t be too far.
